Welcome to AfrISpoTE: Creating Tangible Impact in Africa Through Sports

AfrISpoTE stands as a beacon for profound sports research, delving into the intricate facets of athletic endeavors. Our commitment lies in delivering in-depth analyses that illuminate the diverse dimensions of the sports landscape. With a dedicated focus on research, AfrISpoTE strives to unravel the complexities, trends, and innovations shaping the world of sports, providing valuable insights for enthusiasts, professionals, and stakeholders alike.

Admission Requirements

  1. To be eligible for enrollment into any of the programmes, the candidates are required to possess at least a KCSE Certificate, or Diploma, or a related degree from any recognized institution. Proven ability and/or interest in sports shall be an added advantage to candidates.
  2. Mature candidates with proven track record of achievement(s) who are older than 30 years in age with relevant cognate experience(s) will be eligible for enrollment into any of the programs. Preference shall however be given to candidates nominated by recognized organizations/ Institution
  3. The institute recognizes prior learning in the admission process e.g former sportsmen and women will be considered for admission to the institute.
  4. The participants must have a good written and spoken command of English, or French or Swahili.

Evaluation

  1. Participants will be assessed on the basis of their active participation in each module, as well as group and individual assignments/exams on the course material.
  2. The awards shall be accredited to the host as per academic guidelines thereof and must pass participants for the award of a CPD Certificate or any other recognition.
  3. On successful completion, the participant shall be awarded a Professional Practice Certificate/Diploma in the various areas of study as outlined in this document.

Duration of Courses

Programs will run from one (1) week to 3 months depending on the requirements of a course of study and module

Medium of Instruction

The languages of instruction for all programs in the Institute are English, French and Swahili in the spirit of Pan-Africanism.

  1. Each topic/study subject shall be led by experienced practitioner and academia. The program leader may choose to send reading material and group work to the course participants prior to the face-to-face study sessions as part of remote engagement.
  2. The course facilitators will be drawn from both practicing and academic bodies, based on their areas of expertise and experience. Each course shall draw inspiration from both elements of academic and practice to create learning synergy.
  3. Virtual engagement between course participants and facilitators will be encouraged to ensure regular and continuous engagement.
