I am experienced and evangelical on matters sports technology and innovation, with deep understanding of integration to the entire sports business ecosystem. This has been passionately and deliberately driven for nearly a decade, to ensure Africa adopts state-of-the-art innovations for sport and ensure home-grown start-ups compete for funding to make technology cheaper and more accessible. The scope of work exposure in sports-tech has revolved around elite athletes, fan engagement, match officiating, digital broadcasting, executive business decision-making, sports infrastructure, talent identification & management, adult recreational fitness & health, and venture capital. With world of sports fast adopting Artificial Intelligence (AI), am privileged to work with leading global sports-tech brands in areas such as: AI algorithms video footage processing equipment and software to generate data for performance analysis; AI & VR equipment & software around athlete injury prevention & recovery programs ; AI use in match officiating [such as VAR technology] ; AI and GPS coded wearables devices and smart equipment providing real-time feedback in both training and competition ; Human measurement technologies for high performance sport and tactical professionals & coaches. I work consultatively across Africa, offering innovative and transformative business development solutions to Clubs in various sports, Federations and Athletes, Olympic Committees, Physiotherapy Clinics among others. These solutions are largely themed to entrench understanding of sports as a business and use of technology along the entire value-chain. I leverage on background training in business studies and financial services, to avidly support various sportspersons welfare movements. This takes cognizance of an athlete’s career as short, and therefore need for wealth management and entrepreneurial life skills to be sustainably taught.As a result-oriented leader, I have organically built a solid network of top experts around sports science and technology, sporting directors, coaches and business executives the world over.
